According to Rajput Karni Sena and Shree Rajput Sabha, Sanjay Leela Bhansali invited them to watch the film before release. But they have refused the offer and again demanded a ban on the film.
Letter to Bhansali Productions Shree Rajput Sabha & by Karni Sena:
Shree Rajput Sabha’s president Giriraj Singh Lotwara sent a letter to Bhansali Production. In the letter, he mentioned that the makers are ‘not serious about the matter’. He called the invitation an ‘eyewash’.
According to him, Bhansali Productions has sent him 19 invitations before and this is the 20th one. In this letter, the president of Shree Rajput Sabha also mentions that Prasoon Joshi (CBFC Chairperson) invited 9 historians for their opinions on the film.
But the film is shown to only 3 of them. Remaining 6 does not even see the film. Their opinions have been outrightly rejected and the film is cleared with 5 minor changes including changing the title from ‘Padmavati’ to ‘Padmaavat’.
He mentions two conditions:
- Makers have to show the film to the 6 historians (chosen by Joshi) along with the representatives from all protesting social organizations.
- They have to guarantee that they strictly go by the opinion of those 6 persons if any modifications in the film are asked to be made.
Here is the complete letter sent by Shree Rajput Sabha to Bhansali Productions.
