‘Padmaavat’ gets solo release as Akshay Kumar postpones ‘Padman’

‘Padmaavat’ gets a solo release on 25th January 2018. Bollywood Superstar Akshay Kumar postpones ‘Padman’ which was earlier slated to release on 25th January.

Yes, you heard it right. Akshay Kumar postpones ‘Padman’ which is now releasing on 9th February 2018. ‘Padman’ is directed by R.Balki. It also features Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor apart from Akshay Kumar.

This decision is taken to avoid box office clash between ‘Padmaavat’ and ‘Padman’ as the former is releasing on 25th January 2018. This decision is declared in a press conference. Both Akshay and Bhansali were present at the press conference.

Press conference to announce the solo release of ‘Padmaavat’:

Akshay said that Bhansali approached him to shift the release of ‘Padman’ as ‘Padmaavat’ has already faced a lot of difficulties in releasing the film. He told the media that he met Bhansali at the Filmfare press conference and asks him to postpone ‘Padman’.

The 50-year-old actor also said, “We all are here as one family. I want his film to come solo and I wish him luck. He has gone through a lot”.

Bhansali said that he is grateful to Akshay for this gesture. He said, “‘Padmaavat’ has faced a lot of problems. Akshay Kumar’s ‘Padman’ was to come on the same date. We requested Akshay to push the release date. His film is also big. He agreed in two minutes. He said, ‘I’m with you'”.

Bhansali further states, “It needs a large heart to do this. I will be grateful to him for the lifetime. The fraternity will be proud of Akshay”.

‘Padmaavat’, previously titled Padmavati is a period drama film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film is based on the epic poem Padmavat (1540) by Malik Muhammad Jayasi. The film portrays the narrative of Padmavati, a legendary Rajput queen who conferred Jauhar to shield herself from Khilji, a savage Muslim ruler.

It features Deepika Padukone as Rani Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Sultan Alauddin Khilji.

On the other hand, ‘Padman’ is based on the life of Tamil Nadu based social lobbyist Arunachalam Muruganantham, who made reasonable sterile napkins in rural India.

But the problems for Padman are not over yet. Because now Padman will clash with Neeraj Pandey’s ‘Aiyaary’ on 9th February 2018.
